Billy Kunkel, age 68, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on May 15, 2026 in his hometown.

Billy was born in Kingsville, Texas on June 2, 1957, the son of Richard Herman Kunkel and Frances Maria Kunkel. Billy was the firstborn child.

Billy was preceded in death by his dad, Richard Kunkel, and his baby sister Mary Beth Kunkel.
Billy leaves behind his mother, Frances Maria Kunkel, his sisters, Kathy Henrikson (Rick) and Linda Baham (Michael), as well as Richard Kunkel (Tina). Two sons, a daughter and grandchildren. Three nieces, a nephew and three great nieces.

After high school Billy became a ranch hand on the famous KING RANCH for a couple of years. Billy became a master furniture mover and specialized in the movement of Grand Piano's. Billy was also a master carpenter and furniture maker.

Billy passed away after a long battle with cancer at Lone Star Ranch Rehabilitation Home. The family is so indebted to the care givers at Lone Star Ranch and Kingsville Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
