Ben Figueroa Jr., 75, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on July 18, 2022, at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on January 19, 1947, in Kingsville, Texas to Benito and Alicia Figueroa.
Ben received his B.A. & M.A. in Psychology & History from Texas A&M-Kingsville and held various Certificates and Licenses as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Anger Management Facilitator, Youth Relationship and Family Wellness Trainer and in Criminal Justice.
Ben serviced his community in many ways. He owned and managed his own business and served as director of Institute of Rural Development and Kleberg County Human Services. He was instrumental in the development for various grants for Kingsville and the surrounding community. Ben also served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He served on the board of various groups such as Veterans of Foreign Wars #2375, Boys&Girls Club of Kingsville, Greater Kingsville Economic Development Council, Spohn-Kleberg Hospital Advisory board and Knights of Columbus, Council #2623.
He was the Founder of IRD Foster Youth Transitional Living Center and and "Los Anos De Oro" Senior Citizen housing in Kleberg County.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna Figueroa of Kingsville; a daughter, Terri (Robert) Morales; a son, Ted Figueroa; a sister, Lolly (Oscar) Arispe; three granddaughters, Terra, Katie, and Karyssa; and several nieces and nephews all of Kingsville.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, 07-22-2022 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
