Aurelio Silva Valle, 91, went to be with our Lord and his beloved wife on their 59th wedding anniversary, on February 12, 2020.
Born in Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on November 27, 1928, Aurelio was one of nine siblings, including four brothers and four sisters. Aurelio was a cherished father, dear husband, loving tio and brother, as well as a dedicated friend to those who knew him as Mr. Valle from the Nuevo Leon Restaurant in Kingsville.
Having grown up in a farming family in Mexico, Aurelio came to the U.S. and dedicated himself to migrant work in the fields of Texas and California with his brothers, uncles and cousins in the late 1950s.
On February 12, 1961, he married Trinidad Tijerina in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Soon after, he and his wife came to the U.S. with dreams of making a better life for themselves and their family. They started their journey in Reedley, California, then Aurelio moved his family to Illinois to try his hand working in the factories of Chicago. After a few years there, and some encouragement from his sister-in-law, Elisa T. Cavazos, owner of the C&C Bakery and Restaurant, Aurelio and Trinidad moved their family to Kingsville, Texas to run the C&C Restaurant.
Eventually, Aurelio and Trinidad opened their own business in 1978 and named it Nuevo Leon Restaurant after the state in Mexico where they were both born. The Nuevo Leon served as the heart and foundation for The Valle Tijerina family and friends for the next 28 years. After retiring in 2012, Aurelio and Trinidad moved to Bedford, Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Trinidad Tijerina Valle passed away of natural causes in 2014.
Aurelio Valle had a quiet strength that was based on his faith in God and love for his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, great laugh, wit, kindness, charm and big heart.
Aurelio is survived by his children Marta Valle of San Antonio, Sergio Valle of Colleyville, Aleida Valle Salinas of Bedford, Marina Valle of Los Angeles, CA, Aurelio Valle of New York, NY and Olivia Valle Mato of Roanoke; his grandchildren Dr. Rene Loera, DDS, Briana Loera, Erik Michell (deceased), Marissa Michell, Morgan Michell, Dante Valle, Natalia Valle and Elisa Mato and his great grandchildren Elias Loera, Eriksson Michell and Madison Michell.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2020 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church in Kingsville.
