Antonia Rios Gonzalez, 93, a beloved resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1932, in Calliham, Texas, in McMullen County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Paula Rios.
Antonia was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, where she and her husband, Amador, were faithful, regular attendees. She was a woman of deep and abiding faith who lovingly served her church and congregation. Through family conversations, she would share how her parents taught her the importance of putting God first, a value she carried throughout her life. Each month, she made it a priority to give her 10% tithe to her church, reflecting her sincere devotion to her faith. Her life reflected her commitment to honoring God in all she did. She led by example, always demonstrating her faith through her actions. As the matriarch of her family, she cherished time spent visiting with loved ones, sharing her wisdom, and offering guidance rooted in her strong Christian values.
Above all, Antonia was a devoted wife and loving mother. She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her husband, Amador, who was not only her partner but also her confidant and greatest companion. Their marriage was filled with laughter, unwavering support, and deep devotion; they were rarely apart. She instilled in her children the importance of education, perseverance, and the drive to be their very best. She possessed remarkable strength, balanced by a gentle and caring heart that always put her family first.
Antonia was also known for her wonderful cooking that filled her home with warmth and the inviting aroma of brewing coffee and delicious meals. The kitchen table was a place of gathering, warmth, and joy, bringing friends and family together to enjoy good food and share loving stories. Her home was a sanctuary where everyone was welcomed and greeted with a warm smile and an open heart.
She is preceded in death by her son, Rogelio Rodriguez Jr.; her husband, Amador Abrego Gonzalez; as well as four brothers and four sisters.
Antonia leaves behind a caring family who will cherish her loving memory: her sons, Jose Rodriguez and Roberto Rodriguez; and her daughters, Gloria Cavazos, Sylvia R. Ozuna, Yolanda (Arturo) Garcia, and Noelia Martinez. She was blessed with nineteen grandchildren, William, Wilma, Cindy, David, Jesse, Gabriel, Liza, Loida, Jimmy Roel, Anitra, Priscilla, Jeremy, Joel, Fernando, Michael, Lisa, Olivia, Oscar, and Tres, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her legacy of love and kindness will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Religious Service to begin at 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Servando Torres. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
