Andrea Martinez Chavez, 65, a lifelong resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away on July 31, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 21, 1959.

Andrea was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who welcomed everyone into her home. She was well-known for her love of loteria and cooking for everyone, especially homemade tortillas. She will be missed more than words can say.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Carlos G. Chavez Jr., and her mother, Paula G. Martinez; two sons, Billy Joe Martinez, and Pete Anthony Martinez; two sisters, Mercedes Martinez and Anna Martinez; and two brothers, Isabel Martinez Jr., and Enrique Martinez.

Survivors include two sons, Carlos Chavez III, and Danny (Selena) Chavez, both of Kingsville; five daughters, Anna (Rudy) Hall of Dallas, Mary Jane Obregon of Dallas, Angelica (Rigo) Olivo of Kingsville, Jessica (Josh) Chavez, and Tommie (Robert) Vela; her father, Isabel Martinez Sr.; three sisters, Lydia (Mike) Nunez, Belinda (Kevin) Garcia, Martha (Gene) Garcia; seven brothers, Domingo Martinez, Juan Martinez, Joe Martinez, Ramon Martinez, Hector (Sonja) Martinez, Pete Martinez, and Michael Villalobos; thirty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Paulson officiating.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
