Alonzo Delgado Jr., 76, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Born on December 27, 1948, in Kingsville, Alonzo was a devoted family man and a dedicated professional. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a locomotive engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad, where he was respected for his skill and commitment. He was a proud BLE Union member during his time with the railroad, advocating for the rights and well-being of his fellow workers.

Alonzo was an avid fisherman, a loving family man, and a loyal friend. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he lived out his values of faith, service, and community. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially time spent with loved ones and casting a line on the water.

His presence, stories, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Delgado.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Diana Garcia Delgado of Corpus Christi; his mother, Jesusa J. Delgado of Kingsville; his son, Orlando Delgado (and wife Marlina) of League City, Texas; and his daughter, Melissa D. Mondragon (and husband Michael) of Corpus Christi. He also cherished his four grandchildren, Lia Mireya, Micael, JonGabriel, and Gianna.

Alonzo is survived by his sisters, Gloria Trevino of Corpus Christi and Aldriana Walters of Virginia; his uncle, Valdemar Delgado (and wife Grace); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who hold his memory dear.

Family and friends are invited to honor Alonzo's life at a visitation on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. Burial will take place at Lopez Cemetery (Loma Alta) near Palito Blanco.
