Wendall Charles Zartman, Jr., passed from this life a year ago in Houston on April 17, 2020. Wendall was 68 years old born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 9, 1951 survived by his Life Partner of 37 years, Mr. Raul Avila Meza, originally from Kingsville, Texas. He is also survived by his extended Meza Family: Ricardo Garcia (San Antonio), Abel Villarreal (Katy, TX) and Danny Salinas (Kingsville). Wendall graduated from the University of St. Thomas Houston, Texas. Soon after graduation, he became a History Teacher at Key Middle School and then at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School before making his final career change onto St. John School Houston. He was highly respected by his peers in the Education profession and beloved by his many students including several political friends. A week after he passed away, Wendall was to formally receive the Lamp of Knowledge Award, which is given annually and is awarded to a current faculty member who inspired recent graduates to live by the St. John Mission and guided students to fulfill the entirety of their potential. Wendall loved life, his partner, family, and friends including his (3) Miniature Schnauzers: Lulu, Wishbone, and Fritz and (2) birds. On April 17, 2021, a private family Graveside Memorial Service was followed at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery. Outstanding professional arrangements were under the direction of Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home along with the well-known Texas Harpist, Dian Repp. A special thanks to The Monument Place Kingsville for designing our companion headstone. Wendall was preceded in death by his father, Wendall Charles Zartman Sr. and Mother, Gertrude Gaylord Zartman and survived by his siblings, Walter, Wayne, Barbara, Allan, Bill, Phyllis including nieces and nephews. *St. Gertrude Catholic Church and El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church Kingsville, Texas.
